    Raised in Clinton, NC, Lori discovered her passion for dance under the tutelage of Wanda Coleman and Ann Fowler. She pursued higher education at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, where she majored in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing and minored in Dance. During her time at Meredith College, Lori was an active member of the Meredith Dance Theatre Company all four years. She performed across the Carolinas, participated in numerous American College Dance Festivals, performances and master classes. She was given the opportunity to work with many renowned guest artists such as Doug Varone, Jack Arnold, Mark Taylor and more. In her senior year, Lori served as President of the MC Dance Company and was honored with the prestigious “Performer of the Year “ Award chosen by the Meredith College Dance Faculty. After completing her studies at Meredith, Lori returned to her hometown and taught dance in the Clinton City School System from elementary school children to high school dancers. Committed to advancing her expertise, Lori has held certifications throughout her career, resulting in an expansive knowledge of dance – with training in jazz, modern, contemporary, ballet, lyrical, musical theatre, tumble, acro and more.

     

    Additionally, she spent 5 years on the Miss North Carolina Board of Directors and during that time, was a co-director for the Carolina Princess Program. She also has shared her expertise serving as a judge for many performance events including auditions, competitions, and pageants.

    Lori is a loving mother to her two children, Sophie and Lawson, her furbabies, Grits and Mocha, and a devoted wife to her husband, Mike. For Lori, dance truly is a family affair, as both of her children grew up dancing at CDP. Her daughter  graduated from Clayton High School in June 2024 and is head off to North Carolina State University. Her son is a rising sophomore and plays baseball for Clayton High School. With more than 40 years of dance experience and 33 + years of teaching experience, Lori has shared her love for dance at various studios and educational settings, including Adagio School of Performing Arts, Broadway Dance Project, Raleigh YMCA, Daycares, Riverwood Dance Academy and now CDP. Lori currently teaches recreational and competitive classes and showcases her talents by choreographing award-winning groups that routinely win special awards and top placements. Her dedication to dance education has profoundly impacted countless students, instilling in them the same passion and love for dance that has driven her throughout her career.
