    Michelle Smith

Michelle Smith has been dancing since the age of six and has followed her passion for dance throughout her life and into her professional career. She is a proud East Carolina University Pirate, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Ballet and Pointe.

Michelle teaches a wide range of dance genres and enjoys working with students of all ages—from toddlers to adults in their 70s. Her teaching experience includes Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Improvisation. She trained under the direction of Joseph Carow, where she excelled in the ABT style of ballet and pointe. Her movement background is also influenced by the styles of Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey, and Twyla Tharp.

As a choreographer, Michelle has worked with both groups and individuals, creating original routines for pageants, as well as memorable wedding dances for couples and father-daughter duos. She is thrilled to be celebrating her 23rd year of dancing and looks forward to an incredible season with the CDP family.
